Settle Riverside Phase 2

Yorkshire Dales Leader Programme

This project is phase 2 of a partnership between YDMT, Craven DC, NYCC and Yorkshire Forward to transform the riverbank between Kendal Bridge and Kendalmans Lane near Kings Mill.

 

It was awarded £72,776 LEADER. This phase will connect the Station Road area of Giggleswick with Settle Town Centre and Sowarth Road Industrial Estate.  The improvements will also add value to existing LEADER projects such as the Long Preston Wet Grassland project.  It will provide an unrestricted route between Station Road, Giggleswick and Settle Town Centre.  A safe route to Settle Middle School, College and swimming pool through connection to Settle Riverside Phase 1.  This will encourage further learning and understanding of the natural environment through access to the river and natural space and improve linkages to existing LEADER projects and encourage discovery of the Ribble Valley and Forest of Bowland Buffer Zone.
