Many small business owners will have pencilled in 25 May 2018 as the date when the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) comes into force.  But it is also likely they will all have the same question:  What does GDPR mean for my business and me?

This free breakfast event organised through the Digital Catapult Centre Yorkshire will cover:

  • GDPR - an overview and how the regulation will impact businesses
  • Threats and solutions, in particular cyber threats associated with becoming increasingly internet enabled through IoT devices
  • Risks across supply chain
  • Cybercrime and financial impact
  • Threats and impact on critical business processes.

The event on Monday, 4 December 2017, from 08:00 to 10:00, at The Devonshire Arms Hotel & Spa, Bolton Abbey, BD23 6AJ, will have speakers covering all things GDPR and the basics around cyber security.  Speakers will include:

Emma Roe - Partner and Head of Commercial and Intellectual Property at Shulmans Solicitors.

Emma's areas of expertise include:  manufacturing and supply agreements, data protection and processing arrangements and intellectual property licensing and information technology matters.

Martin Law - Founder of AgilityIS< a cyber security solutions provider with many years industry experience.

Martin is a seasoned security professional with over 25 years security expertise, providing consultancy services to a broad spectrum of clients across all industry sectors.  Martin is also a proactive member of Yorkshire Cyber Security Cluster.

At the end of the event, you will receive a resource pack, highlighting sources of guidance and advice on topics covered in the session.

There will also be an opportunity at the end to ask the speakers questions and network with attendees.
