A Community Led Approach to Sustainable Rural Development

 

Yorkshire Dales LEADER Programme has been set up to build a sustainable community and economy that capitalises on the area’s environment, landscape, culture and heritage.

Co-operate with Dales LEADER

 The type of project proposal that  we can fund will be led by organisations or groups that are wanting to get access to new information and new ideas, to develop particular projects that cross borders, contact like minded groups or to learn or collaborate with other regions either in the UK  or within other countries. Projects in other LEADER status areas have involved transferring traditional lime burning skills between groups based in Romania and the Northern Pennines, and construction of low cost timber camping shelters to encourage sustainable tourism, a joint project between the UK and Vestsjælland.

Proposals should involve a strong and clearly defined project idea that will directly contribute towards achieving the objectives in our Local Development Strategy for our area .
